Although I (and may US and world Human Rights/Rule of Law folk) regret immensely the many compromises and perhaps unnecessary compromises on war and fair trials of detainees which Obama finds he must make...we have this speech wherewith to hold him accountable with his own words and stated principles.
At the same time, Cheney's speech is about as unbelievable and low a contrast as ever a US speech made by a man of comparable office.
