Excerpts from article with hopefully a few more later...
"Dr Naeemi had no rivalry with any one" say persons who knew him well.
A member of the executive body of Naeemia Association of Pakistan, said Dr Naeemi had never accepted his security request, saying he did not want anyone to be killed along with him.
(Others) said they had suffered a great loss as "Dr Naeemi had devoted his life to create harmony among all sects and raised his voice against anti-Muslim elements."

No doubt Its a great loss which has no compensation.
ReplyDeletesuch people with great qualities born in centuries but are lost so suddenly.
I just wish for security and safety for every Pakistani citizen,but i know its just a dream.
there are so many famous ppl who lost their lives in Pakistan by becoming the victim of terrorism;
Hakeem Muhammad Saeed
Liaqat ali khan
Benazir bhutto etc,and
uncountable religious scholars.
Until and unless we are united against Evil like at the time of Pakistan's creation, we are bound only to SEE dreams!!
Thank You for this heart-wrenching comment, ReeBz! How passionately many of us pray that this beautiful - reasonable dream for basic security and safety will become a reality soon and long-term. I want also to look up and study the lives and teachings of the other great leaders whom you have mentioned and to add to the multitudes --like you --who want to show that their spirits have not died.
ReplyDeleteImagine the multiplied dreams and devotion fleshed-out by multitudes of determined, elevated and compassionate work by millions of Pakistanis and others around the globe - on a moment-by-moment basis.
(Not least of which are the daily offerings of time, energy, resources and personal goals for those in such desperate need - the displaced. Along with the great need, let's also be energized by the self-giving of so many young and old, trained and untrained - including students who are giving their all that others may live as well. And also the compassion for the poorest from the very same brave lawyers who recently marched and thrilled the world by their resolute dedication for the return of the rule of law. And so many others: writers, doctors, film-makers, teachers and the list goes on and on...)
Surely this prayer and hope and the daily acts of mercy will together bring out of these wishes and dreams a clear reality - surely this is inevitable - a dream based on the solid and high foundation upon which Pakistan was built - principles which (along with Pakistani devotion) are inspiring more and more people around the world.
