Karachi-Pakistan Time: Evidently time in Karachi is NOW 9 hours ahead of US rather than the usual 10 hours ahead - Some here may understand this code? UTC/GMT Offset Standard time zone: UTC/GMT +5 (evidently no adaptions of time for this year - ie like in US where daylight saving/spring changes have led to a one hour change ahead from same US time before the springing forward. Note to make sure the right time for the above seminar is understood by Pakistanis and their contacts outside the nation.)

  1. Check back - AFTER the seminar for other select, relevant items in posts below. I have decided to wait both to keep blog systems holding this post as prominent and also because the seminar may somewhat influence what I add or delete from my chosen items.

  2. Interesting in light of US/Pakistani "cooperations" - One leader and nation which is saying: no thank you: http://rainbowwarrior2005.wordpress.com/

  3. A very brief response to the Webinar:

EACH speaker did an excellent job of covering key issues...each overlapped with the others yet presented some new aspects. Each was quite unique in approach and distinct in voice yet ALL were calm and confident that in unity they had a changeless picture of the truth and of the facts...

On the other hand all the many voices in the media which continue to paint Dr. Aafia as a member of a terrorist group come of with various sets of facts which keep changing.

New information has emerged and was presented in "hints" and small introduction by Yvonne Ridley.

If true and she was calm and believable, then there are behind these plenty of information that can't yet be revealed in full to give reason for confidence.

Sadly, there is yet no surety as to in which way Dr. Aafia's freedom is to be gained...yet there appear to be some options.

Gladly, there appears to be some confidence that the two missing children are still alive and that authorities in Pakistan believe they should be returned and plan to work diligently soon toward this end.

  4. Since the following report, this girl has been verified NOT to be the daughter of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

    Sunday, 04 April 2010

A 12 year old girl has been brought to the home of Aafia Siddiqui's sister in Karachi, Pakistan, who may be the missing daughter of Aafia Siddiqui, Maryam.

JFAC cannot verify at this stage if the girl is indeed Aafia's daughter but we are circulating this for information purposes only. A further update is expected tomorrow evening from Aafia's family.

    A news report follows below.

    ===============

Dr. Aafia Siddiqi’s daughter brought home: reports

KARACHI: Unknown men on Sunday brought a 12-year-old girl at the residence of Dr. Aafia’s Siddiqi’s sister Dr. Fauzia Siddiqi in Karachi.

They claimed that the girl was the missing daughter of Dr. Aafia Siddiqi, who was currently in a US prison.

Meanwhile, a large number media persons after receiving the reports, gathered outside the residence of Dr. Fauzia.

According to eyewitnesses, the girl has been taken inside the house along with the people, who brought her.

On the other hand, NADRA officials got the fingerprints of the girl so that her relationship with Dr. Aafia could be verified.

Dr. Fauzia said that she was not aware who this girl was because she was not being allowed to speak to anyone.
