The power of quiet is great. It generates the same feelings in everything one encounters. It vibrates with the cosmic rhythm of oneness. It is everywhere, available to anyone at any time. It is us, the force within that makes us stable, trusting, and loving. It is contemplation contemplating. Peace is letting go - returning to the silence that cannot enter the realm of words because it is too pure to be contained in words. This is why the tree, the stone, the river, and the mountain are quiet.

I am not familiar with a way to look at Shamanism as a healthy adjunct to a belief in God/Allah/The Divine...and yet this quote strikes me as worth some dialogue and re-investigation...
We met a Shaman in Africa who expressed a deep sense of imprisonment to his belief in the same...
And yet, occasionally, I see or hear the word coming up in perhaps a more enlightened, freer way.
What do you know, readers?
Quietness was there before first word was pronounced, so it rubs with the origin of the origins. Silence speaks when words fail us, silence is understood much better than the words and sounds, words are spoken when something is to be told and something to be concealed, words are an opaque medium, and silence is a transparent medium. Man speaks to nature and God with words of praise and thankfulness, nature and God listen but only answers when there is profound silence and quietness.
Wow, dear Dar Sahib,
Your comment itself is a poem. And some of the thoughts will help me to finish my own poem on Quietness...
Why not use it as such?
Plz get back to your own gift of writing soon...I miss & love the same.
The world needs your poetic voice.
Readers:
You are probably already savvy enough but Plz don't click on any site offered by Anon...esp with a link called controversial...
I may need to soon change yet another password here if this keeps up...
someone had asked about the end of the story i mentioned...
well that particular story of the shaman in africa stayed imprisoned the last i knew...
because when he tried to break free & stop using some of the artifacts forbidden by some of the christians there at the time...which were part of his ritual of selling his soul to the devil...
his attempts to forsake this kind of evil resulted in all of his pigs which he raised...according to him...throwing themselves into the sea...
so because he tho't his financial well-being--if you call it that-- depended on his vow to obey satan,
he forsake God & his future well being in return to his old life...
by the way, he also said if he could not cure someone he would send them to local medical doctor...so as not to take blame...
I am having to spam out some items which don't make any sense & a few which do make some sense but are a little over the top & lead to other links which I don't trust at all...
So plz if someone signs as anon esp if they give a link to what they call their website or another...PLZ ignore the same...
You probably already knew that but just in case...
Some of these comments sound like this:
I don't even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good. I don't know who you are but certainly you are going to a famous blogger if you aren't already ;) Cheers! Here is my blog
DONT TRUST any anon on my site or even with a name yet questionable over the top type stuff...
Just another brief comment...
I remember meeting Patrice years ago out of the blue, if I am thinking of the right person...
He also was raised like a Shaman...
His story & what happened that day was quite remarkable. Someday perhaps I will revisit this experience with Patrice & journal it at least...
I am NOT in any way giving assent or encouragement to the mentioned book...nor the experience of shamanism...
NOR do I give in any way condoning to the way some Christian people so called, like the priest that according to Patrice kidnapped him...
What I am wanting to do is to keep finding bridges and healing among and between people of all kinds of backgrounds...
If the concept of Quiet in peace, truth, trust, love & light may be a common one among us...
Surely the Divine among us...the light among us is also in support...
I'd like to know what others may feel, say or have experienced along this line??
Interesting also that this very morning I am writing these comments & reading others' poetry & comments, a friend called out of the blue to read me her poem: Quiet -- which she wrote after a dream, verbatim...
Greetings,
Thank you for this beautiful quote and photograph.
I agree with Akhtar Wasim Dar. From Quiet (Stillness) comes movement.
There are many areas of the world wherein folk beliefs/practices (e.g., for healing) of common people (like you and I) are seamlessly woven into their sincere approach to the Divine. It is, according to so-called scholars (like Anthropologists), "shamanism."
How to deny the sincerity of the human heart?
All good wishes,
robert
I so so appreciate the balance from you, Dar Sahib and Robert.
Thank You so much.
