Photos: Don Rumsfeld and Richard B. Meyers

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld (right) and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen Richard B. Myers, U.S. Air Force, briefed Pentagon reporters on what they had seen during their Sunday Sept. 4th visit to the areas of the Gulf Coast ravaged by Hurricane Katrina during a press briefing on Sept. 6, 2005. Rumsfeld and Myers enumerated figures on the vast amounts of aid being provided by and through the military both active duty as well as National Guard and Reserves to the victims of this natural disaster. I will try to keep adding some key guidelines here for those who would like more updates on this topic...Also, find PLENTY below on this topic...

Mean-time Keep going to Bill of Rights Defense Committee - my quick tip is to go straight for their news daily and/or request an email reminder sent to you (free):
Here and learn about the steady work to save The Bill of Rights & The US Constitution Go Here

Also these following folk also often carries bold headlines & other items missed by even the most updated progressives...

Here (for Robert Parry (who had a lot to do with exposing the Iran Contra Affair) and see his other reports, also Go Here (expert on GTMO) and to the irreplacable Cage Prisoners (especially if you are in England & also tired of reading the flood of non-muslim, non middle easterner perspectives...not a bad idea also to read Lebanese, Indian, Pakistan and other non-anglo, non US news sources however progressive...

Right a key person to watch on torture issues & war crimes seem to be as you would expec is Senator Russ Feingold. (He tried hard to get Congress to CENSURE Bush before all the recent reports are coming out in the droves and it has become more politically correct. KEEP WATCHING HIM)

and of course keep watching: Amnesty I/USA, Human Rights Watch HRW dot org), Human Rights First, International Committee of the Red Cross Red Crescent, Aljazeera, commondreams dot org, Electronic Iraq, Electronic Intifada, positiveuniverse dot com The Jurist, AM Law and other law sources, probably Marjorie dot com will have something soon, Bob Herbert Op-ed NYTimes, KEY for legal reports & more: Center for Constitutional Rights, GlobalSecurity dot org, BBC World Service/news & interviews (although it seems they are WELL BEHIND on some of this lately??)and sometimes afterdowningstreet dot org and last but not least, look for NPR's court reports...
